When Christian Science came into my life, about seven years ago, I did not believe or think it possible that so much inner peace and so many blessings could come to anyone from just reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The benefits that have come to me are too numerous to mention, but I should like to tell of one experience that I had early last summer. For weeks I had had difficulty in breathing, and sometimes felt a very severe pain in my chest. I told no one about it for fear that my daughter would become anxious. I studied the textbook more earnestly than I had ever done before, but did not notice any relief or improvement. Some time later, early one morning, a strange feeling in my throat made me rush to the bathroom, where I had a slight hemorrhage. It seemed to come from the lungs. I was very much frightened, and was going to call my daughter when the words "divine Love is sufficient" came to me. I went quietly back to bed, and believing myself too weak to read the textbook I simply repeated the Lord's Prayer and "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468). In the morning I was perfectly free from pain, discomfort, and weakness—so much so that I was almost afraid the healing would not last; but it has been proved to me that Christian Science does not fail when earnestly and understandingly applied.
For this and for other instantaneous healings I have experienced through the help of a loving practitioner, I am more thankful than words can express. But, most of all, I am grateful to our Father-Mother God for the great gift of Christian Science to the world through our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy.— Athens, Greece.
