I became interested in Christian Science in 1920, and since then, when its teachings have been conscientiously applied, it has met every need.
Two healings stand out very distinctly. Some years before I took up the study of Christian Science it was discovered that I was suffering from fallen arches. The specialist to whom I went for help could give me little hope of recovery. This condition caused me much pain, and without the special boots which were made for me I was scarcely able to walk across the floor. Through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy in conjunction with the Bible I was able to cast aside my special boots. I learned that God's child is perfect. Since that time I have done a great deal of hiking without any inconvenience.
I experienced the second healing in 1921, with the help of a practitioner. One morning I awoke to find my throat very much swollen. I worked mentally to the best of my understanding, but the condition became very much worse, and at the end of three days the jaws appeared to lock. Then I grew somewhat afraid, and asked for help. The practitioner immediately corrected my thinking by explaining that there was nothing to fear; that God sent nothing but good to His children. Within half an hour after speaking to the practitioner I was able to eat a little, and two days later the distressing condition had completely disappeared.
