WORK, A SONG

From the May 1933 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"The song of Christian Science is, 'Work—work—work—watch and pray.'" —Message to The Mother Church for 1900, by Mary Baker Eddy (p.2).

Does our burden seem too heavy,
Have we labored lone and long,
Has the work been so outstanding
That we overlooked the song?

We can sing, His yoke is easy;
Singing makes the burden light.
We can work and keep rejoicing:
Ours the song and His the fight.

Work, work, work! our help is needed;
Sing, sing, sing, and watch and pray!
Ever working and rejoicing
Leads to God and victory.
