My first healing in Christian Science was of constipation, and it came about through the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. I had been studying but a few weeks when I realized that I was healed.
With the help of Christian Science practitioners I have had healings of what was said to be fermentation in the intestines, of severe headaches and gas pains—the after effects of surgery—which had lasted for a number of years. Hemorrhages and nervousness left me after a few treatments, and acute pain in the lungs has also been completely healed.
Mary Baker Eddy's interpretation of the Bible is a never ending source of joy. It is so clear and satisfying that the Scriptures have been illumined for me. I had studied Christian Science seriously for two years when an earnest desire for church membership came to me. It was the first time in many years of church experience at numerous orthodox churches that I had entertained such a desire, and I knew I had found that for which I had been searching.
