HAVING received many blessings through the study and application of Christian Science, I too desire to add to the "good tidings of good" as they are published in our periodicals. I am profoundly grateful for the Christian Science activities and for the privilege of serving in some of them.
There was a time when I thought that church activities were not consistent with a manly outlook on life, more especially of a church instituted by a woman. And this condition of thought prevailed even after Christian Science had raised a member of the family from a bed of pain and suffering after physicians had failed. However, the evidence of this healing so persistently remained in my thought that it compelled inquiry as to what caused it, and when I began to inquire, right then and there that erroneous thought about church departed. With a glad heart I rejoice today that I am a member of The Mother Church, also of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and have received class instruction—all of which include the privilege of full participation, which, to a perverted sense, at one time seemed to me undesirable for a man.
Christian Science has healed me of physical ills, physical injuries, the tobacco habit, profanity, and endowed me with a better disposition. And so I think with profound gratitude of that noble woman, Mary Baker Eddy, who was pure enough to receive the revelation of the truth about God and our relation to Him and unselfish enough to impart it to the world. This testimony would be incomplete without a word of appreciation for the work of practitioners whose help was so generously forthcoming along the way.—Chicago, Illinois
