THE Annual Meeting of The Mother Church was held on June 7. Members from all over the world attended, filling the main auditorium of The Mother Church and that of the original edifice. The audience was deeply appreciative of the addresses and reports which were read, and profound loyalty to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, was expressed. Sincere gratitude was evinced for the faithful work of The Christian Science Board of Directors, who, in the address which was read by their chairman for 1936-1937, while expressing thanks for the loyal support of the Field during the year, referred to the need for greater consecration to revealed spiritual truth on the part of Christian Scientists everywhere, that the reign of righteousness might be established in the hearts of men.
The meeting was opened with the singing of Hymn No. 254, "O'er waiting harpstrings of the mind," written by our Leader. The retiring President, Mrs. Elizabeth Cadwell Tomlinson, then read the following passages from the Bible, with correlative passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy:
