Gratitude for the healing truth and for the Christian Science movement impels me to give my testimony.
My first healing stands out to me as a landmark. It gave me my first realization of the power of God, Life. I was fighting a losing battle with pneumonia. A doctor and two nurses had done all they could for me, and I was not expected to live through the day. Suddenly I heard from another room, "I want my Mummie!" It was a cry from our baby, and it pulled me out of my semiconscious state and awakened in me a determination to live. I had a vague recollection of a service to which my sister-in-law had taken me some weeks before, where I had heard of healing. I managed to ask my husband to get in touch with this relation and he, not understanding the reason for my request, but willing to humor me in any way, did so. She at once went to a Christian Science practitioner for help, and within a few hours I sat up in bed, exclaiming, "I am better!" The doctor was immediately sent for, and his verdict was that a miracle had occurred. I may add that within three weeks I traveled to Ireland in a perfectly normal condition of health.
Since then my family and I have experienced many healings. Divine Love has met our every need, and my gratitude is inexpressible. I feel that my gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, can best be manifested in a more constant and steadfast endeavor to prove the truths which she has given us.— Blacon, Chester, Cheshire, England.
