I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, but because a statement by Mrs. Eddy particularly appealed to me (Science and Health, p. 140): "The Christian Science God is universal, eternal, divine Love, which changeth not and causeth no evil, disease, nor death." Increased spiritual understanding, which the years have brought, has overcome many habits of impatience, unpunctuality, carelessness, and the like, and there have been many beautiful physical healings, especially since the birth of our children. Colds, chicken pox, measles, whooping cough, pneumonia, and many other ailments have been quickly overcome. A very badly injured mouth was beautifully healed. Although the dentist wanted to extract two teeth, they were saved through the work of a Christian Science practitioner, who held to the truth that nothing is lost in divine Mind, and that Mind is the master of error.
Recently, I was healed almost overnight of a badly sprained ankle, which I sustained in a fall. This reminded me that before I became interested in Christian Science, I had been susceptible to overturned ankles, and would often be laid up for a week at a time. I then realized that I had been healed.
For all these blessings, and many more, I express deep and sincere gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, and to Mrs. Eddy; also to the practitioner who, when I was young in Science and called for help, encouraged me and lifted half the burden immediately with her calm assurance, "This is just an opportunity to prove the allness of God."
