In Isaiah it is written: "And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them." This Scripture has been fulfilled in my experience.
Looking back thirty years, to the time when Christian Science was first brought to my attention, I can truthfully say that my pathway indeed seemed dark and dreary. I was filled with fear of the future, always looking in every direction for evil to appear. We read in Job, "The thing which I greatly feared has come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me."
As darkness gave place to light along my pathway, through the study and application of Christian Science, my troubles began to disappear and the pathway ahead seemed more promising. Bad habits began to disappear, among them profanity and the tobacco habit. I was also healed at this time of a serious stomach trouble. But I soon found that "the song of Christian Science is, 'Work—work—work—watch and pray,'" as our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, states on page 2 of her Message to The Mother Church for 1900.
