The greatest desire of my heart is to testify to the blessings which I have experienced through Christian Science, that others too may be helped.
Eight years ago my son became ill with diphtheria. According to the doctor his condition was very grave, for his heart had become weak. Somewhat previously I had heard of Christian Science, and now, in my distress, I immediately turned to a Christian Science practitioner for help. Within a few days the sickness had completely disappeared; also, a very troublesome whooping cough which had developed. For these quick healings I am very grateful.
No sickness worth mentioning has occurred since then. My greatest joy in the intervening years has been the true understanding of God and His ideas, which has kept unfolding to me through the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. I have come to see that our first duty is to love God, and our neighbor as ourself; and I have also learned that true brotherly love is seeing man as God sees him, that is, free from any error. This understanding has been very helpful to me, for it has freed me from resentment and prejudice, and has thereby brought about friendly and harmonious experiences. My service as an usher in a branch church has constantly given me great joy.
