It has been the agelong prayer of earnest men and women that the truth about God and His creation might be revealed. A sense of incompleteness has arisen because men have believed themselves to be separated from God. And, having failed to find surcease from the resultant discords of fear, loneliness, lack, disease, and the constant disappointments of human experiences, by resort to material means of one sort or another, they become discouraged and are ready to cry, as did Job in his extremity, "Oh that I knew where I might find him!"
It is with great joy, therefore, that seekers for Truth recognize in Christian Science the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus, which is now revealing to men the allness of God and the perfection of all true being, whereby they are enabled to lift themselves and others out of false beliefs and materiality into the realization of their true estate as children of God. In "the scientific statement of being" Mary Baker Eddy writes (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 468), "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all."
Accepting the premise of God's allness, and having the understanding that He is infinite Spirit or Mind, one must conclude that the opposite of Mind, called matter, is neither true nor real. As this fact is understood, it acts upon the human consciousness to establish more harmonious conditions, such as greater peace of mind, a better sense of health, better human relations, and improved business affairs. Why? Because the turning of thought from reliance on matter to trust in God, good, destroys false belief.
