THE WAY OF LIFE

From the February 1940 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life." David sang thus of his trust in God's guidance long years ago. Today, in the midst of much turbulence and mesmeric confusion, each one may turn to God, as did David, and find that same guidance.

To the worldly-minded, God may seem unavailable, and the kingdom of heaven far away. But Christian Science shows that God is at hand, and that we do not ask in vain when we desire to be directed in the right path, for nothing good is withheld from those who realize their divinely bestowed right to enter the kingdom.

According to Matthew's Gospel, the Master set forth in the Beatitudes the characteristics and ideals which pertain to a citizen in this heavenly kingdom. Here, in simple words, it is promised that the pure in heart shall see God. To see is to understand. To understand is to become consciously aware that Life is God, and that man reflects Life. It is to know Life, Truth, and Love as infinite intelligence, the only substance, and as meeting every need of man eternally and abundantly.
