Pause here and rest, you who are weighed with care,
And at the feet of Love lay down your fear.
The Word invites you to green pastures fair,
And to its wells of living waters near.
It bids you to its table spread with bread;
The children's milk, the sage's glowing wine.
Can earth's dire famine long on husks be fed?
Can you for long the living Truth decline?
The Word remains as powerful today
As when the Saviour walked by Galilee
To heal the sick and sad, and point the way
Of Life, which waits for all mankind to see.
The promised Comforter has come to lead
Into that way, where Love meets every need.
