DIVINE ACTIVITY

From the February 1940 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The world at large seems to be suffering from the belief that useful, progressive activity has lapsed into a negative state of stagnation, thwarted careers, unrewarded endeavors. This problem is regarded by many as well-nigh impossible to solve, and is held steadily before the world's gaze by the constant repetition of such aggressive terms as "depression," "recession," "layoffs," "shutdowns," and the like.

Christian Science is daily demonstrating the fact that true activity is spiritual, and that the condition of seeming inactivity has neither truth nor power, since, here and now, there exist permanently available and unlimited opportunities for constructive activity, and sure rewards for right endeavor.

As understood in Christian Science, spiritual activity manifests God's active goodness. It is the operation of spiritual ideas, reflecting the endless activity of Life, the scientific certainty of Truth, the purity and loveliness of Love. Spiritual activity is as inexhaustible as Mind, which it expresses; as permanent as God Himself, and as omnipresent. Without beginning and without end, infinite Mind is expressed in perfect action.
