I am grateful for this privilege of...

From the May 1940 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am grateful for this privilege of sharing with others some of the many blessings I have received through the healing power of Christian Science. Prior to taking up this study I had never read the Bible, but now I find it to be a constant inspiration and guide when read in connection with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy. I am convinced that through the study of these books is to be found the correct way to work out one's salvation from all evil. I am truly grateful that I have found this way, which was marked out by Christ Jesus, and revealed in this age by our beloved Leader, to whom the world owes endless gratitude.

Since I first took up the study of Christian Science, in 1922, I have made steady progress. A corn, which had been the cause of much pain and inconvenience to me for many years, was immediately healed upon my resisting the temptation to apply a corn remedy. I have been healed of an abscessed tooth; colds and headaches are less frequent, and I have been instrumental in helping others. For the healings and the innumerable blessings which I have received from reading our periodicals, I truly rejoice. I am also very grateful for membership in The Mother Church and for the privilege of serving in the activities of a branch church. "Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation."—
