During the past eighteen years Christian Science has brought a great number of blessings into our home. The last few years, in particular, have brought me a wider, freer concept of good, for which I am especially grateful. I was passing through a very difficult period, filled with loss, failure, disappointment, and sorrow. Help was unselfishly and patiently given me by a practitioner, and this so strengthened my courage and guided my efforts to demonstrate the truth in each situation that wonderful results appeared. The loss of a good position led me to direct my efforts toward the development of a talent that had long lain dormant. My new activities opened the doors to beautiful experiences. What had seemed to be a miserable failure slowly resolved itself into a gratifying success. Sorrow was turned into joy and confidence. The loss of a few cherished friendships taught me a long-needed lesson, that of striving more to please God, and of being less concerned over the approbation of mankind.
These experiences severed all bonds that had held me in the city I called "home," and I was beautifully led into new surroundings, where pleasant work, new, warm, and happy friendships, and an abundance of good things were waiting to welcome me. In each struggle, the purifying of desire and the dropping of human hopes and plans brought the right answer.
There have been a great many physical healings in our family—in several cases, after doctors had said no more could be done to relieve or cure the condition. My own experience includes the healing of swollen glands of the neck, frequent attacks of tonsillitis, influenza, a tendency to faint, two badly crushed fingers, an injured back and wrist, and car and train sickness. More constant supply, greater wisdom, and more satisfying experiences have daily unfolded since I took up the study of Christian Science. A clearer concept has come to me of all as children of God—loved, blessed, and safely cared for by Him—and this has displaced a great deal of fear, distrust, and prejudice. I am very grateful for the infinite goodness of God which was demonstrated by Christ Jesus, and is revealed to all the world today by Christian Science.—Tulsa, Oklahoma.
