From the June 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, April 26, 1941]

The Christian Science War Relief Committee of The Mother Church has, since early October, 1940, been forwarding to The Christian Science Wartime Committee of The Mother Church in the United Kingdom, the headquarters of which are in London, a steady flow of relief goods—warm clothing, knitted garments, bedding, et cetera—which have been received from Christian Science War Relief committees all over this country. At least 1426 large cases with an estimated value of $245,500 have been shipped.

The response from the Field to meet the great need for comforts has been spontaneous and most generous, and it has been a pleasure to forward the gifts to Europe for such a humanitarian purpose. This work was planned to give relief from conditions due principally to the war. As stated in the original announcement relative to The Mother Church War Relief Fund, which appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of June 22, 1940, "The Christian Science Board of Directors expects to extend this relief to other countries when and as the way opens."
