"LOVE IS REFLECTED IN LOVE"

From the June 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Science of God, divine Love, reveals His universe of light, beauty, and joy. This Science was discovered through the purified consciousness of one Christlike woman, Mary Baker Eddy, for whose great gift to humanity our songs rise in praise and gratitude. Those who recognize and duly value what her work has done and is doing for the world, are receiving an understanding of Love beyond the world's power to give or to take away.

Our Leader wrote of Love as follows (Miscellaneous Writings, pp. 249, 250): "What a word! I am in awe before it. Over what worlds on worlds it hath range and is sovereign! the underived, the incomparable, the infinite All of good, the alone God, is Love."

Love corrects and heals; it unfolds satisfying good in the thoughts of all who reach out honestly for correction and healing. To touch the hem of the garment of Love brings health to the sick, quietness and joy to storm-tossed mentalities. Love speaks its "Peace, be still," and there is "a great calm." And what is this "great calm"? It is the consciousness of Love, before whose irresistible peace error's tumultuous waves are quieted. The great need of mankind is to trust implicitly in the omnipresence and omnipotence of Love; to accept, and to acknowledge our acceptance of, its presence and potency; to desire with all the heart the purification of thought through conscious at-one-ment with Spirit.
