A glorious account of the pioneers of spiritual truth is given us in the Bible. Abraham, who was called to leave his country and kindred, is followed by Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and Joshua, all of whom were courageous, successful pioneers, having made new discoveries concerning the power of God; and they left the world greatly enriched in righteousness.
In due time came Christ Jesus, who revealed a new and better way of living. He is the Way-shower in the realm of Spirit, where sin, disease, poverty, and death are unknown, and where man's dominion is complete. He left a well-marked trail, but by the worldly-minded it could be only dimly discerned. However, in our own time Mary Baker Eddy, the God-inspired Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, clarified the teachings left by the Master, so that a vast throng is now able to understand them and find the way to follow his directions.
Far more challenging and thrilling than any new territorial frontiers could possibly be, are the frontiers of spiritual thinking which the Science of Christianity opens for those humbly willing to push ahead in the understanding of God, divine Mind. Here is to be found the true sense of health, strength, joy, freedom, abundance. The rule for attaining this priceless treasure is clearly stated by Mrs. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 41): "Like our Master, we must depart from material sense into the spiritual sense of being." Paul puts the same thought in different words, saying, "Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more."
