With deep gratitude I offer this testimony of the many blessings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science.
From the time I was a young girl, I suffered from a weakness which I was supposed to have inherited from my mother. After many years of suffering I was operated on. This seemed to help for a while, but later I was again under a physician's care. He pronounced the trouble internal cancer, saying that an operation would be necessary, but that since I was very nervous, weak, and anemic, sun baths and X-ray treatments would be necessary to help me gain strength. I tried these but did not improve.
It was at this point, when I had lost faith in medicine but did not know which way to turn, that a friend offered me Christian Science and lent me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This indeed opened a new way of life to me, and I read every moment I could, forgetting self while drinking in this wonderful truth. In a very short time I was a new person, gaining in strength and health until my friends began asking me what had brought about such a change. A year later it was necessary for me to have a medical examination for business reasons, and the examining physician pronounced me in perfect health. This healing, which took place over ten years ago, came about through my reading Science and Health, and has been permanent.
