A hymn from the Christian Science Hymnal (No.83), which includes the words,
God made all His creatures free;
Life itself is liberty;
has always appealed to me, because Christian Science has brought me freedom. When I first became in terested in this Science I was a delicate woman and had undergone an operation and a number of different medical treatments, including three months' rest in a nursing home. During that time a nurse lent me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Al though previous to reading it I had been fed on all kinds of fattening foods, yet nothing had increased my weight; after that week, however, I gained a few ounces, and at the end of the month I had gained fourteen pounds.
