It is with sincere gratitude to God for the many blessings that my daughter and I have experienced through Christian Science that I give this testimony. Sixteen years ago I was led to Christian Science after medical attention by specialists had failed to help my little girl, who was suffering from mastoid trouble. She had been under the doctor's care for five months, at the end of which it was declared that an operation was the last resort. I called in a Christian Science practitioner on a Wednesday. She gave my daughter three treatments, and on the following Sunday the child went to a Christian Science Sunday School, which she has been attending ever since.
From the time of her healing I began to study Christian Science. It threw light upon the Scriptures. I gained a better understanding of God, and discerned more clearly man's relation to Him. I am very grateful for this blessed teaching. It brings joy and a peace of mind which words cannot describe. Through trying experiences I have learned to depend on God for our supply.
I love the beautiful interpretation of the Lord's Prayer by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, found on pages 16 and 17 of the textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I am grateful to serve in a Christian Science Reading Room. Here those who are hungering and thirsting after righteousness find spiritual refreshment, a quiet, peaceful atmosphere which can best be appreciated by spending an hour or more there for study of the Bible and the writings of our Leader.
