WITHIN THE SHADOW OF THE ROCK

From the December 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Here in the battle's din I hear God's Word;
No other sound is heard.

The strife is stilled,
And I am filled
With consciousness of immortality.

Here in the quiet night I feel God's grace.
This is an holy place;

My Life is sure,
I dwell secure,
Hid in the shadow of the sheltering rock.
