While living in a small western town some thirty years ago, I was visited by a relative whom I had not seen in over a year. On this occasion I was surprised to hear how clearly he spoke, for he had been a stammerer all his life. I questioned him as to how he had been healed, and he related that he had found a wonderful religion known as Christian Science, and that with the help of a Christian Science practitioner he had been healed.
Wishing to know how this healing had taken place, I attended a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I was so impressed by what I heard that I became a regular attendant at this church. The sincerity and joyous expressions of the speakers convinced me that I had at last found the satisfying religion for which I had always longed. Never having been quite content with my own concept of Deity, I felt that I had found that which would revolutionize my thinking along religious lines, and make me a happier and better man.
As I earnestly studied the Lesson-Sermons from the Christian Science Quarterly, I realized the all-important fact that certain basic laws of God operate for the benefit of humanity, and that these laws, when applied to any problem, bring about a correct solution.
