With sincere gratitude for the testimonies of healing in the Christian Science periodicals, which have been a source of inspiration to me over a period of many years, I offer mine, in the hope that it may bring healing to others.
Two years ago I tripped and fell to the floor with great force, which resulted in intense suffering. Help, which was asked for at once from a Christian Science practitioner, was promptly given.
Because of my mature years my family felt that it would be wise to call a bone surgeon. An X-ray picture showed my hip to be broken. I told the surgeon that I was a Christian Science practitioner of many years' standing, and if possible I should prefer to remain in my own home, which I was allowed to do. I was tenderly cared for by my loved ones and remained in bed two weeks, during which time I was free from suffering and was spared the unpleasant experience of a cast or splints. The beginning of the third week, the surgeon called to see me. He asked if I could stand on my feet. I showed him that I could, and he told me to repeat this as often as I felt able.
