My first experience in Christian Science was the witnessing of an instantaneous healing of a dear one, whom I carried bodily into a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. She had reached the so-called fatal stage of asthma, and related ills, and physicians had despaired of curing her. Death was clearly indicated as being only a matter of days away. My only acquaintance with Christian Science was by hearsay that had been more derogatory than favorable.
After the meeting an usher answered our plea for help by introducing us to a practitioner. After thirty minutes with this devoted worker, my loved one walked unassisted, completely and permanently healed. Her physical restoration to normalcy was total and startling. On the same occasion she was also instantaneously healed of chronic constipation, from which she had suffered for seven years.
Her calm explanation was, "I just was given to understand that God is good, and that He is All." For a long period we sat there in our car, weeping for joy and gratitude.
