THE SCIENCE OF CHRIST

From the December 1945 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Tender, eternal Science, now we find,
by thee instructed, clarity of mind;
by careful thought, precisely followed through,
we learn that good and good alone is true.
We learn the universe, by Spirit made,
in no material balance can be weighed,
and man, the image of unerring Mind,
is never in material form confined.

No man more scientific trod the earth
than he to whom the Magi knelt at birth,
whose mighty practice of God's law sufficed
to prove to John the presence of the Christ.
Healing the sick and preaching to the poor,
walking the wave and passing through the door,
he did not set aside eternal laws,
but proved that Mind and Mind alone is cause.

We who today would tread the path correct,
go not in pride of human intellect,
but seek by ordered thought the way to find,
expressing normal qualities of Mind.
Accurate, thorough, careful, and exact,
we follow step by step and prove the fact
that no material error can resist
the clear, compelling logic of the Christ.
