Christian Science was presented to me in my girlhood at the time of my entrance into art school, by one who soon became a dear friend. I frequently spent the night at her home, and we often lay awake for many hours talking about the truth concerning God and man; and many of my questions, stemming from a great desire to know more of this Science, were answered. I soon owned a copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which became a constant companion.
At a time when an influenza epidemic was prevalent, all the members of our family appeared to be coming down with it. I read aloud from Science and Health to them nearly all that day, while I held my little brother in my arms, and by night all were greatly improved. The following morning they were completely free.
Chilblains, which when I was a young girl had prevented me from wearing shoes for a week at a time, reappeared and were instantly and completely healed when I turned to God and saw that He is the one and only cause.
