I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings we have received through the study of Christian Science. I am grateful for the privilege of becoming acquainted with a practitioner in 1918, when I received my first healing, an almost instantaneous one of influenza. Through all these years this practitioner has lovingly responded to our calls for help, and we have gained spiritually as well as physically. We have had healings of bruises, measles, mumps, whooping cough, and smallpox, most of them instantaneous. Another cause for gratitude is that we have always been able to have all of the Christian Science periodicals, including The Christian Science Monitor.
About thirty years ago I was practically helpless, suffering from periodic pains, a large tumor, tuberculosis, and an extreme nervous condition. The doctor said that I could live for six months, possibly a year, because I was not the type to give up easily. In no time at all, with Christian Science treatment, I began to improve, and for years I have done all of my housework and cared for a yard and garden. Recently I had some of my teeth extracted, and I can truthfully say that I experienced no pain or trouble whatever. I went to the dentist several times and did not mind it any more than I would going to a moving picture. If this were the only healing I had received in Christian Science, it would be sufficient to prove to me that Science does heal.
We have had so many healings in all these years that I cannot enumerate them all. Christian Science is a most practical religion, and the more I study it, the more I am convinced that it is what Christ Jesus lived and practiced. I am very grateful that my husband, the children, and I have the privilege of being members of The Mother Church.—Ord, Nebraska.
