Testimonies of Healing

In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and...

From the February 1949 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke is related a beautiful scene which was enacted over nineteen hundred years ago, when the little daughter of Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue, was restored to life by our blessed Master, Christ Jesus, the Way shower.

How true it is that many of these so called miracles are being repeated in this age through the healing power of Christian Science. It is interesting and noteworthy that Webster, in defining the word "miracle," gives Mrs. Eddy's definition, "That which is divinely natural, but must be learned humanly; a phenomenon of Science" (Science and Health, p. 591). Paul asks (Acts 26:8), "Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?" Surely God has not changed.

It is with deep and heartfelt gratitude to God and Christian Science that I can testify to an experience somewhat similar to that of Jairus' daughter, which occurred in my home when my son, now grown, was a little boy of about ten years of age. He too was raised from the dead by the application of God's law of life, as taught in Christian Science.
