When our boy developed mastoiditis in both ears, he was placed under the care of an ear specialist, who tried numerous material remedies, including X-ray therapy, but the condition grew worse. The physician then informed us that an immediate operation was necessary, but he despaired of a complete healing.
We had been discussing Christian Science during this period, because through a Scientist friend we had heard of some healings which had been effected through Christian Science treatment. In our extremity we telephoned to a practitioner. Work was taken up immediately. Within fifteen minutes the boy fell into a deep sleep, and when he awoke, asked for food. This was the first time in two weeks that he had desired nourishment. There did not appear to be any physical change for several days, but the child was happy and able to be about. Treatment was continued and resulted in a complete and permanent healing without any aftereffects.
At this time I was healed of the need of wearing glasses, which I had worn for fourteen years. I had not been able to be without them for more than a short time without suffering severe head pains.
