Testimonies of Healing

It is a privilege to acknowledge the daily...

From the March 1949 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is a privilege to acknowledge the daily joyousness of living and all the healings that have come to me in Christian Science. Nothing could compare with the cognition that one does not need to fear anything, since God is good. Each day is His, filled with health, joy, peace, love, and plenty.

Although I attended the Christian Science Sunday School from childhood, I was, nevertheless, subject alternately to doctors and Christian Science in my home. When I was six, I fell from a horse, fracturing my right arm at the elbow and wrist. The parents of the boy who was responsible for the accident called the doctor, who made the above diagnosis. However, Christian Science treatment had already been begun, and by the time the doctor had assembled his equipment, he found the bones in place. He put the arm in a splint, but upon his arrival next morning to check his patient, he found me running about outdoors, my arm swinging freely and manifesting its usual strength and activity.

In my later school days an operation was performed on one nostril. The space was not large enough to permit proper breathing. At the conclusion of the operation it was found that the passage was still not large enough. In two days I must return for another operation. Due to my outcries at home over this impending trial, Christian Science treatment was requested. Upon my return to the doctor after the lapse of two days, he was amazed to find the passage sufficient and no operation necessary.
