[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, January 29, 1949]
It is with deep regret and with loving interest for the many friends and pupils of our dear friend and fellow worker in Christian Science, Mr. John Randall Dunn, C. S. B., that we report his passing on at his home in Centerville, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, December 22.
Mr. Dunn has long been well known to the Field for his devotion to our Cause and his active service in many capacities. Following a period of four years as a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship, he was elected First Reader of The Mother Church, in which office he served from 1920 to 1923. Thereafter he was re-elected a lecturer and served in that capacity continuously for twenty years with the exception of brief periods taken for study and practice of Christian Science. In June, 1943, he was elected Editor of The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science. In June, 1948, he was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from The Principia College.
