In humble gratitude to our Father-Mother God, who gave us the truth through Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I offer this testimony.
My first healing in Christian Science occurred when I was engaged in the medical nursing profession. Expectant of a call to a case, I was reluctant to leave my apartment to procure reading matter, so I stepped into the hallway to see if anyone had discarded a magazine. Here I found a Christian Science Sentinel. I scanned its pages, but was mostly attracted to the testimonies of healing. I read of the healing of a condition from which I suffered at that very time. Many times I believed I was suffering more than my patient. As I read, I believed that, being God's child, I too could be healed, and I was, instantaneously. I accepted the call to the case, but I procured the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and acquainted myself with its contents as much as my time would permit.
A few months later I became ill with an annual quinsy attack. I refused all medical aid and telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly gave me treatment. That night I slept soundly, and in the morning the healing was complete.
