My parents became interested in Christian Science in 1909 and were both healed of chronic dyspepsia in a few weeks, solely through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
As a child I attended the Christian Science Sunday School, and I remember with what wonder and joy I accepted the facts that the healings recorded in the Bible were not alone for that period, but for all time; that Christian Science was showing us the way of the Master in healing the sick through prayer, acknowledging God as the only physician.
One of the first healings I experienced through the help of a practitioner was that of a severe case of measles, followed by rheumatic fever. The latter was overcome after I had spent some days in bed reading Science and Health whenever possible, for at times the fever was very high and I was unable to move. With the help of the practitioner, after five days I was completely healed. Later I had the blessed privilege of class instruction in Christian Science. This changed the whole course of my life.
