For a few days I had been in distress with dislocated vertebrae. Every position was painful. On Wednesday night I went to a testimony meeting at a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in Chicago. When I reached there, I doubted whether I could sit up through the meeting. I thought, If I go home, all I could do to help myself would be to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I shall hear it read here. I was not conscious of any physical condition until after the meeting was over, when I realized I was entirely free from pain. This healing has held up for thirty years.
In play, a soldier who had been trained in jujitsu gave me a blow near the shoulder. This caused an injury so painful that I could not sleep for several nights. Early one morning I called a Christian Science practitioner, a student of Mrs. Eddy. She worked three times in two days. At the end of the second day the excruciating pain had all gone. No suggestion of it ever came back. That was over six years ago.
I suffered severe pain near the upper gum. One morning a dentist diagnosed this as infection of the sinus above the gum. In my spare time during the rest of the day I realized that in reality a co-worker was God's creation, not what mortal mind had been telling me he was. By night the pain disappeared and has not come back in the eight years since.
