My heart is filled with gratitude for God's great goodness in leading me to Christian Science at a time when everything looked very dark to me. Since then four years have passed, during which period I have had so many blessings that I cannot count them. The first time I read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of severe headaches which up to that time had not yielded to any material remedies. I threw away medicine that had been considered indispensable for relief of heart trouble and other difficulties from which I suffered. The doctors' diagnoses had varied, but it had been agreed upon that I would have to observe a strict diet.
When I read the textbook I realized that because man is a spiritual idea of God I need not fear food of any kind and that it had no power to harm me. This realization made me grateful and happy. I gave up all my human opinions about nourishment and fearlessly began to eat everything I wanted. Gradually, and with the help of a kind and patient Christian Science practitioner, my heart began functioning quite normally, and the other difficulties were entirely overcome. Today I am well and strong.
Our two children have also been privileged to experience much good in Christian Science. I cannot be grateful enough that they are able to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, for the truths which they learn there are an ever-present help to them. For instance, with the help of a practitioner an unsightly skin eruption was quickly healed in our family, and more recently a healing of blood poisoning was experienced.
