It was about twenty-five years ago that I took up the study of Christian Science, and it is time that I testified to the numerous blessings which I have received. This simple and practical religion has fulfilled my desire to find the true God. When it was introduced to me I became interested at once, and since that time I have not wandered from the well-marked way. I was seeking God for Himself alone, and I have gained the assurance that good is ever present and that our Father-Mother God cares for us tenderly.
A short while after I had begun studying Science my husband became ill. An X-ray photograph showed that a shinbone was carious, and for this a doctor advised either two years in a sanatorium or an operation. For a week my husband could not sleep because of the pain. Then he consented to my calling a Christian Science practitioner for help. That same night the pain gradually ceased, and he slept peacefully. Some days later, he walked alone with the aid of a cane. At the end of five weeks he was completely free.
In June, 1952, I was taking a long bus trip. We were crossing country where there was no possible shelter when a violent storm burst upon us. The lightning flashes and loud claps of thunder were incessant. Most of the travelers were frightened and spoke of their fear that a bolt of lightning would strike the bus.
