God's allness is a basic factor in demonstrating Christian Science. Just as fundamental is the realization that man is the expression of God. All true substance, intelligence, and life express the goodness, wholeness, and perfection of God. It is essential for one to understand that his true identity is spiritual, and that as God's idea he is one with Him and truly manifests His perfection.
Human experience includes many problems involving material sense testimony, pseudo evidence which, if given credence, makes one believe that he is a mortal, subject to sin, disease, lack, and death. This lie can be overcome through the understanding and application of Christian Science. It is scientific understanding that teaches us how to obey Christ Jesus' command (Matt. 5: 48), "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
Christianly metaphysical work must be founded on right purpose in order to succeed in healing, and the right purpose is to know and represent God's perfection. Everyone desires health. But one's purpose should not be to acquire ease in matter. The aim should be to demonstrate health as a spiritual quality, the consciousness of absolute good, with which man is endowed by his Maker, divine Principle. It is impossible to have as a concept of activity the functioning of physical organs and then try to demonstrate immortal life. Our desire should be to prove that God is our substance, intelligence, and Life—to appreciate and express one's true identity as an individualized manifestation of Life, God.
