I owe everything I have to Christian Science. Through it I have learned how to heed the comforting words of Christ Jesus (Matt. 11:28), "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden," and have gained liberation from much discord. I therefore hope that my testimony will help those who are searching for healing and peace of mind.
I learned of Christian Science in 1949, when I had given up all hope. For over twenty years doctors had been treating me for chronic diseases, including a diseased condition of the gall bladder, liver, and intestines which caused me much suffering. I had tried various kinds of treatments, diets, operations, changes in climate, and so forth, but nothing was of any benefit. I was unable to work regularly, and serious differences of opinion were separating our family.
At that hour of deep despair a friend told me of Christian Science. Some time afterward I attended a service in a Church of Christ, Scientist, for the first time, and I shall never forget that marvelous day when I saw the light of Truth. A little later I went to see a practitioner, who showed me so much love that I became a firm adherent of the teachings of Christian Science.
