With the Psalmist I can sing (Ps. 16:6), "The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage."
Early in my study of Christian Science and during a most severe stretch of hot weather I was working on an art exhibit to be held in a tent as an assignment from my office. This necessitated that I dress in a Colonial costume, including a white wool wig. The thermometer registered 100 degrees. When I reached home late in the evening, I manifested quite disturbing symptoms of nausea. After a sleepless night, I called a practitioner and told her that I had promised to finish some art work that morning so the exhibit would be ready for the noon opening, but that I felt it would be an impossibility to keep my promise. The practitioner agreed to work for me, and she reminded me that Mrs. Eddy says we can do without harm to ourselves whatever it is our duty to do.
I rose, dressed, and went to my destination, though with difficulty. In a very few minutes after I began my work, every trace of the illness was gone. In pondering the healing, I perceived that it was accomplished through the work of the practitioner and through my willingness to rely on God and go forward.
