Having derived such direct benefit from reading the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, I wish to give mine, hoping that it will help others.
I am especially grateful for the Christian Science organization which I attended during my last two years of college, because it was there that I first realized that Christian Science is not only a beautiful and comforting religion, but a practical one.
During World War II, my husband was assigned to a destroyer which subsequently took part in the landings at Iwo Jima and Okinawa, and he was on radar picket duty at the time of the Okinawa campaign. This was during the time when so many kamikaze planes were attacking our ships. Whenever I heard newscasts about ships having been sunk or attacked, I would have to overcome a great deal of fear. I knew I must conquer this fear for my own salvation, for the well-being of our small son, and for the safety of my husband and his shipmates.
