Testimonies of Healing

[Original in German]

Through the untiring help of a Christian Science...

From the December 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Through the untiring help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed of lung trouble, in spite of the opinion of several medical specialists who had said I could not possibly recover unless I underwent an operation.

Afterward, in trying to make up for the time I had lost because of illness, I became more and more engrossed in my profession and felt overworked. I had not heeded Christ Jesus' command (Matt. 6:25), "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink." When taken with a fever, I called a practitioner, and thanks to the prayerful work done in my behalf, I felt so much better the next morning that I got up to keep a business engagement in a city about eight miles away.

I managed to get through the conference and to make a tour of several workshops afterward; but when my kind hosts invited me to stay for a meal, I was unable to accept and hurriedly took my leave, for I kept feeling worse and worse. With my last reserve of strength, I made my way home and got out my Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. I began to read the textbook, but was so weak I kept falling asleep. Whenever I awoke, I started to read again.
