Because I have had so many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science, I submit this testimony with a heart full of gratitude so that others may be encouraged as I have been by reading the testimonies.
Until I found Christian Science, I was unhappy and ill. I had a severe sinus condition, for which I had had operations several times, only to be told by the physicians that the condition was incurable. Also I had paralysis of the face, which presented such an ugly picture that I avoided all who knew me. I was told I would never be able to work again. Electrical treatments for the facial paralysis and treatments for the sinus condition three times a week for several years did not bring about a change. These severe conditions brought me to Christian Science.
The practitioner who was asked to help me said that if I wanted to rely on Christian Science for healing, I must discontinue the medical treatments. I was obedient and promptly gave them up. Although I had been warned by the doctors never to expose myself to drafts or to go out in damp weather, I disregarded all these so-called laws. It was not long before I was completely healed both of the facial paralysis and of the sinus condition. These healings have been permanent, proving Mary Baker Eddy's statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 217), "When you have once conquered a diseased condition of the body through Mind, that condition never recurs, and you have won a point in Science."
