How often the cry goes forth for freedom. Where can it be found? Many ways are offered humanly and found to be hopeless. When in desperation the one in bondage turns to prayer and becomes humbly willing to rely upon God for help, the true way of deliverance may be found, for God is ever present.
In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, clear, spiritual teaching and guidance for those in bondage to any form of suffering, whether physical, financial, or mental, are available. On page 227 we read: "Christian Science raises the standard of liberty and cries: 'Follow me! Escape from the bondage of sickness, sin, and death!' Jesus marked out the way. Citizens of the world, accept the 'glorious liberty of the children of God,' and be free! This is your divine right. The illusion of material sense, not divine law, has bound you, entangled your free limbs, crippled your capacities, enfeebled your body, and defaced the tablet of your being."
Christian Science is the revelation of Truth, of the fact that all is divine Mind, God; hence there is no matter. It affirms that because good is omniscient, evil beliefs do not really exist and hence cannot hold us in bondage.
