Looking toward the future of individual nations and of the whole world, can anyone afford to ignore the mounting problems facing those in positions of authority, whether in business or in government? Yet one may wonder how he can help, for at first glance it seems ridiculous that a few men here and there might be of any value. But he who cherishes freedom to worship, speak, and' live without the tyranny and imposition of mortal mind's laws can learn how to claim his right to make just decisions and to live harmoniously through practicing the Science of Christianity.
To live according to the teachings of Christian Science as set forth in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy is both practical and joyous. Mrs. Eddy tells us that we should follow the example of Christ Jesus, who continually demonstrated in his brief career the Christianly way to live. No matter where he went, he was always about his Father's business.
That business, of course, was being obedient to God, divine Principle, Love, at all times and under all circumstances. He exemplified his teaching that we should live not only by the Ten Commandments but in accordance with the Beatitudes, that we should bless our enemies and do good to those who persecute and say all manner of evil against us. Even though the devil or evil tempted Jesus to come down from the mount of inspiration, the spiritual consciousness of good and perfection, he continued steadfastly to remain on the summit. According to the writer of Hebrews (4:15), the Master "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." No wonder he was able to heal the sick, cast out error, and triumph over death!
