"THE ACCUSER IS NOT THERE"

From the March 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

THE teachings of Christian Science show us that the whole of God's universe is wrapped in perfect peace. No accusing power, be it called hatred, sin, disease, or other discord, can possibly enter this spiritual realm. Jeremiah tells us (17: 12), "A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary."

Sometimes it may be difficult to believe that we have such a sanctuary, because the world seems so full of accusations. We may feel that this sanctuary never will be ours. Whatever would tell us this, is the accuser trying to make us believe a lie.

As students of Christian Science we do not need to listen to the accuser. We should not despair, feeling that we are bogged down with frustration, nor should we fear that some horror may engulf us and that nothing we can do is going to make any difference. On the contrary, we can do a very great deal about it for ourselves, as well as for others. Through the teachings of Christian Science, we are shown how to pray in a manner which enables us to find our way out of our problems.
