For the multitude of blessings that have resulted from the study of Christian Science over many years, I wish to give thanks. Colds, congestions, fevers, rheumatic aches and pains, torn ligaments in the knee, a malignant growth, nervous exhaustion, and many other discordant conditions have yielded to the touch of divine Love and to an increasing understanding of the spiritual truths set forth in the Bible. This understanding has been made possible by the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

In this textbook, our Leader tells us, "Trials are proofs of God's care" (p. 66). Since I have recognized this to be true, a harsh disposition has gradually given place to a gentler one, self-righteousness has given place to greater love and charity. Lack has been replaced by a better sense of substance, and gratitude, when expressed, has opened up a whole new field of joy and happiness in my relations with others.

At one time one of my knees became inflamed, swollen far beyond normal size and quite painful. On the third or fourth day, my husband, who was not a Christian Scientist, became alarmed. I assured him that I was not afraid and that he need not be. Suddenly I saw the entire unreality of the belief of life or sensation in matter. I sprang up laughing and then went about my housework singing the words of Hymn No. 64 in the Christian Science Hymnal, which begins with the words,
