My first testimony was published in the Christian Science Sentinel of October 17, 1931. Since then, I have had many more proofs of the healing and protecting power of God, as taught in Christian Science; and I again wish to avail myself of the opportunity to share my gratitude through the channel of our periodicals.
Fifteen years ago, I had noticed for some time an enlargement of my neck; but at this particular moment, the last year of World War II, because of outside demands upon my time, I did not pay much attention to this condition. However, one morning it became evident that a goiter was developing. In an instant, mortal mind tried to pour its suggestions into my thought.
I recalled the words in Science and Health, written by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. She says (pp. 260, 261): "If we look to the body for pleasure, we find pain; for Life, we find death; for Truth, we find error; for Spirit, we find its opposite, matter. Now reverse this action. Look away from the body into Truth and Love, the Principle of all happiness, harmony, and immortality."
