The story of my life before coming to Christian Science was one of constant illnesses, operations, limitation, and self-pity; but now my whole life leans on what Mary Baker Eddy says in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 277), "No evidence before the material senses can close my eyes to the scientific proof that God, good, is supreme."
In 1915 a surgeon and two physicians informed us that our young daughter could not live two days longer. At this time she was hospitalized, suffering from scarlet fever, with many complications, and she had had a serious mastoid operation.
Knowing our desperation, the child's young schoolteacher asked if I would try Christian Science, assuring me that nothing is impossible to God. With the help of a practitioner, all medical verdicts were reversed, and our child was completely healed.
